Holistic Veterinary Care in Your Home
Integrative treatments combining Eastern and Western medicine for your pets.
Acupuncture can help to correct imbalances in the channels. Dr. Kristin utilizes both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Balance Method in her approach.
Chinese herbs may be prescribed based on your pet's TCVM diagnosis. Unlike pharmaceuticals that can have adverse effects on internal organs, appropriate Chinese herbal therapy will nourish the internal organs.
Food therapy is targeted to your pet's precise balance of yin, yang, qi, blood, and shen.
Tuina Massage stimulates acupuncture points without needles. I can demonstrate some basic techniques you can use at home in between sessions.
Balance Method Acupuncture
I am certified in Balance Method acupuncture, which is a minimal needle technique based on the teachings of Master Tung and Dr. Tang. fMRI studies have been used to demonstrate rapid response using this method. It focuses on utilizing distal points (knees and elbows to toes) in order have better results with fewer needles.
About TCVM
Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) is a system of medicine that has evolved from human Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which has been documented for thousands of years. TCM is a comprehensive approach that factors in not only the condition of the individual, but also how overall health relates to environmental factors, changes in season, the balance of the internal organs, and the balance of yin, yang, qi, blood, and shen. In this way, TCVM is considered a more holistic approach. TCVM consists of four branches: acupuncture, herbal formulas, food therapy, and Tuina massage. TCM consists of a fifth branch, which is qigong. TCVM treatment is targeted to your pet's unique condition.
